In-Laws, The (2003)

IMDB rating: 6.50

Plot: When prospective fathers-in-law Steve Tobias and Jerry Peyser meet for the first time to celebrate their children’s upcoming marriage, the cake hits the fan. Dr. Jerome Peyser is a mild-mannered podiatrist with a well-organized daily routine designed to eliminate all possible sources of stress. Meanwhile, daredevil CIA operative Steve Tobias moves through life like a heat-seeking missile. His average day consists of dodging bullets, stealing private jets and negotiating with international arms smugglers. Now he’s giving potential father-of-the-bride Jerry a serious case of pre-nuptial jitters. Steve’s dramatic entrances and exits, his cryptic references to a Russian runaway named Olga and his fight with a gunman in a restaurant washroom causes Jerry to see a vision of his daughter’s perfectly planned wedding blowing up in his face. As far as Jerry’s concerned, letting Steve into his family takes til death do us part way too literally. Before he can say the wedding is off, Jerry suddenly finds himself embroiled in the chaos that follows in Steve’s wake as he is dragged kicking and screaming into a series of perilous adventures that take the mismatched in-laws-to-be halfway around the world.

I broke the cardinal rule of trust, skepticism ensues?
Here it is: I read her text messages from a sketchy night.

Background:
I have been dating this girl for 4 months, but feel as if we have known each other forever. Both in school, me in undergrad, and she is in law school. The difference in age (4 years) was no factor for both of us because we hit it off from the get go extremely well. She has an ex-boyfriend who she used to not be able to stand, but seems to be building a friendship with, or so I thought. I am not a jealous person but as of lately we have grown somewhat distant from each other, and have been arguing lately about how we both want to keep our lives together and have our own lives.

I read her text messages from New Years, which was a night we weren’t together during, and we had spoken to briefly. I saw where she sent her ex a text saying "we need to talk tomorrow" at 3 am, and another of her friend Liza asking if she was "okay about Greg (ex) and Rob (me)" to which she replies "yea, just didn’t want anyone thinking I was going home with Greg." I cannot help but confront the situation, in a constructive and non-accusatory way, tonight when we are both home. I want to tell his d-bag Greg to back off, but if she wants to become friends with her ex Greg I will have to live with that.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to approach this situation? Do you think I should tell her I read her messages? Thanks in advance…. -Rob

I'm doing very well in semi pro football, if i play one more year…?
and do well you think it’d be a good idea to get ahold of an agent
to get invites to play in the CFL or NFL for a practice squad??
I’m 19 going on 20. I’m 5′8" 193ibs. and i run a 4.5 40. bench 225. squat 335 and power clean 280
I play running back/wide receiver. I average 205yd’s and two touchdowns a game off around 25 or so carries. and average 12 yd’s a catch a game. are those good enough numbers to get me onto a practice squad? i just want to get my foot in the door

Oh, sure. You won’t even have to make an effort to get ahold of an agent. They’ll be beating a path to your door and have contracts awaiting your signature. They’ll be particularly impressed with your trurhfulness.

HAHA…No you have no chance. Seriously, is this Q a joke!!
La Bong * Go Saints * | Jan 03, 2010

If you’re serious…

The term semi-pro is arbitrary, you are not a pro and, more importantly, your participation doesn’t affect NCAA eligibility.

You’d stand a better chance by contacting local colleges to beg, plead and grovel for an assistant coach to work you out. If he likes your stuff, you then have to get into the school and walk-on. You might have to enroll in night courses or something to qualify.

Your semi-pro stats are near meaningless, do not make a big deal out of them.

Legit 4.5 speed should at least get you a look….oh, and work on your bench.

300

300
300 (2006)

IMDB rating: 8.00

Plot: It is spring 480 BC, Persian King Xerxes, continuing his father Darius’ master plan to conquer the Hellenic city-states, arrives in Hellas. The previous Persian invasion and diplomatic attempts have already turned most northern Hellas tribes and states to the Persian side. But the people of Athens and Sparta, the largest Hellenic powers at the time, feel quite insulted by the Persian emissaries’ request to surrender to Xerxes, and so slay them. In Sparta, King Leonidas consults the local oracle, who gives two options: Either a spartan king will have to be sacrificed, or Sparta will be burned to the ground. A year earlier (481, BC) a Panhellenic consortium of all southern city-states had already recognized the superiority of the Spartan army (the best organized and trained army at the time) and had declared King Leonidas as supreme commander of the combined Hellenic army. It is then decided that a small force should block Xerxes’ way to southern Hellas in the Thermopylae passage. This passage was, at that time, 12 meters wide. The great historian Herodotus, possibly exaggerating, states that there were 1,700,000 Persians (their true number could have been anywhere from 100,000 to 1,000,000) against 7,000 Hellenic hoplites and slaves, including the 300 men of the Spartan King elite guard. King Xerxes waited four days for the Hellenes to be frightened and eventually surrender and was quite astonished by his opponents’ complete apathy. Xerxes tried to convince Leonidas to drop weapons, give up his position, kneel before him and live on as a local governor under Xerxes. King Leonidas replied “molon lave,” which means “Come and get them.” The three-day battle began, with the 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians (the other Hellenes where sent by Leonidas to protect passages to their flanks) slaying thousands of Persians with minimal losses. The whole Persian campaign would have failed if it hadn’t been for Efialtes, who showed Xerxes a secret passage to the Hellenic flanks. After a final battle led by King Xerxes himself, the Hellenic force was slain and their heroism and glory was written forever in history. From the beginning of the battle, the Hellenes buried their dead in the spot where they fell. Then battle signs where made for the dead of each Hellenic faction. For the Pelloponisians, (including the 300 Spartans) the sign generally read (free translation) “In this place 4,000 Pelloponisians fought 30 millions).” For the 300 Spartans (Lakaedaemonians), the sign reads (free translation) “Oh foreigner, tell the Lakaedaemonians that we are buried here obeying their laws,” meaning that they never hesitated and never retreated from the enemy. The impact of the battle was enormous for both sides. The Persians’ morale dropped to zero, and the Hellenes lost their fear for the Persian conqueror and organized their defense. After several successful battles, the Hellenes ultimately defeated the Persian army and repelled their invasion in the Battle of Plataea in 479 BC.

How can I make about 300 dollars in one week?
Well, I need to make about 300 dollars in a little over a week. I’ve been out of a job for about a month and I start a new one pretty soon, but I need some money between now and my start date. (A little over a week) I’m willing to do just about anything, so does anyone have any ideas?
Well thanks guys, I appreciate all your input.

What are you willing to do?

You might be able to do some "odd jobs" like day laborers do. Yes I know this seems crazy but if you really need the money you could/would do anything.

My partner did construction jobs to make ends meet when he was younger and he is a born U.S. citizen. Money is money and if you can do little odd jobs here and there you might make those 300 dollars.

Go to Craigslist.com or your local paper. Its easier than most think. Good luck!

And by the way there are risks with using craigslist. A girl got killed going to a babysitting gig. Well the guy that posted it wasn’t a family man but a psycho killer. So be careful!

pawning possessions seems to be best plan.
ebay secondary .. but you will get the money in more than a week.

there are the horrible check loan people .. who will give you $300 for a check that they don’t cash, but then if you don’t make payements you go to jail. but if you need only $300 ..perhaps that can help.

concern:
odd jobs can pay quite well .. computer repair, house repair, appliance repair .. cash too! but by the time you run around and try to do "odd jobs’ and find someone.. you week will be done. So unless you have some connections .. or it snows .. or?? this might not work.

weekend retail jobs exist .. but you would only get about $100 per day if that. and again the start date would reak .. but this IS the holliday season .. might get someone to hire you on the spot.

Can a friend or relation tide you over .. or can you do them a spot of help? or sell them something.

Need Reviews for the 1st chapter of my Vampire Novel. 10 points for best answer!?
Chapter 1

Snow. It was something you didn’t see often in Los Angeles, California. At least I was pretty sure that it was rare. I sighed to myself as I stared out the window towards the ocean. I hadn’t lived here very long, so what could I say about the weather. I groaned as the school bell rung and I took my seat in the very center of the room. Science. It was my worst subject, in fact I was never really ever good at things like Math or Science.

I was much more of a creative person, I liked to read, write, sing, play piano. I smiled when I thought of the dance class that I would be starting today. My older sister Jennifer practically had to drug me in order for me to say yes to the whole thing. I loved dancing, don’t get me wrong but ever since my parents were murdered and I had moved to California to live with Jenna, things had changed and it didn’t feel right, I didn’t feel right about asking Jenna to pay for it, but she just smiled and promised me that it was no big deal and that she could easily afford it.

Suddenly a teachers voice rung out and I was shaken from my daze.

Bank is Robbing me of my money…?
My bank is robbing me with REALLY stupid fees. I’m due to get paid tonight exactly at 12AM. I have direct deposit. But I don’t want to put it in that Criminal bank of mine (M&T bank)…
So I added a routing number for a bank i’m with out of state. But it asked for a flat amount. How much am I supposed to put?

Me too. And everyone else.
Exitwound | Nov 19, 2009

If I were you, I would open an account at another bank and close the M&T Bank account. There are plenty of banks out there that charge no fees at all. I firmly believe that if I am to put my money somewhere, then why should I have to pay for it? This is quite a trend nowadays for banks not to charge "fees." I have never heard of a bank asking to deposit flat amounts. On the other hand, when withdrawing or depositing money at an ATM, then you have to go by flat amounts. I would not recommend depositing money at an ATM because, money could be miscounted although it does not happen frequently. Hope this gives you some good info.

Good Books for a 13 year old Guy?
Hi, I’m looking for books to read, I like fantasy and adventure, I read Harry Potter, Inkheart, Eragon, City of Bones, and the rest of the series in all those books, also i read Mortal Coils, I would want books with people have special powers, like Another Faust, not wizards just people with special powers/abilitys.

If you like fantasy, adventure and people with special powers…then you MUST read The Power Of Five series by Anthony Horowitz! :)

They are:
1)Raven’s Gate
2)Evil Star
3)Night Rise
4)Necropolis

(there is a 5th one but he is currently writing it and has no title yet)

Once again, you MUST read the series – it’s brilliant!

1. DIRTY HARRY 1972
As avenging cop Dirty Harry Callahan, Clint Eastwood shoots first and asks questions later, creating the most politically incorrect hero in movie history. With his ever ready .44 magnum ("the most powerful handgun in the world"), Clint brings unreconstructed frontier justice to criminal-coddling San Francisco, becoming a role model for law-and-order conservatives everywhere. Ronald Reagan even took his best line ("Make my day") from Sudden Impact, a later Dirty Harry film.
Key Scene: Clint’s final face-off with Scorpio, the deranged psycho killer.
Best Line: "You have to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

2. THE GODFATHER 1972
"What is it with men and The Godfather?" wonders chick-flick princess Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail. Tom Hanks responds for us all: "It is the I Ching. It is the sum of all wisdom." Francis Ford Coppola’s mob opera is the modern guy’s indispensable guide to surviving with honor in a dog-eat-dog world.
Key Scene: How can anyone choose? The horse head in the bed? Sonny’s murder? Michael shooting the cop in the restaurant? We know every one backward and forward.
Best Line: "Don’t ever take sides with anybody against the family again." "I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse." "Leave the gun; take the cannolis." There are millions of them.

3. SCARFACE 1983
An unapologetic assault on everything decent and honorable — and that’s why we love it. Al Pacino’s Tony Montana makes his Michael Corleone look and sound like Mr. Rogers. Nothing beats the film’s coke-fueled mobster wisdom. Lines like: "First you gotta make the money… then you get the power, then you get the woman" set the tone for a whole generation of gangsta rappers.
Key Scene: One word: chainsaw.
Best Line: "Say hello to my leetle friend."

4. DIE HARD 1988
Forget all the great action scenes this film has — the best moments are when underdog Bruce Willis kicks the snobby Eurotrash villains’ asses without ever losing his all-American sense of humor. The scene where the German villain gets his comeuppance for trying to use the word "cowboy" as an insult resonates more today, though it’d be even better if the guy were French.
Key Scene: Bruce crashes through the window hanging from the firehose.
Best Line: "Yippee-kai-yay, motherf–ker!"

5. THE TERMINATOR 1984
Arnold Schwarzenegger was originally offered the human lead, but he realized that a killer robot from the future was the role he was really born to play. "There is a little bit of the Terminator in everybody," director James Cameron observed. "He operates completely outside all the built-in social constraints."
Key Scene: Any qualms about rooting for a malevolent robot vanish when he vaporizes a tacky L.A. dance club.
Best Line: "I’ll be back."

Is it possible to be a werewolf but not be able to shift? 10 points!?
I get the feeling sometimes that there’s more to me than meets the eye. I have the nagging suspicion that I am a werewolf. I know that it runs in the family, but I didn’t get it. Only one person in each family gets it, and my cousin got it. sometimes though, I wonder if I don’t have a bit of it as well. I’m a lot like a werewolf. I practically live in the woods, I have the urge to stay outside on the full moon, although that’s not a part of being a werewolf, they just shift during the full moon because they can see better. Also, I’m very territorial, and I have growled at family members before. I don’t like people, and I have the tendency to lay with my dogs when we watch tv instead of on the couch with the rest of the family. They seem particularly attached to me, and are very concerned with my well being, as they growl and bark at anyone they don’t know that tries to come near me. My cousin says that she can smell some wolf on me, but not enough to be classified as a werewolf. She tested me, and my sight, smell and hearing are a lot more acute than the average human’s senses. If anyone can give me their thoughts on my predicament, they would be very welcome. ten points to the person with the best guess/advice!!! And please don’t say anything like hairy palms, unibrows, silver allergies, stuff like that, because we’ve tested all but the silver bullet on my cousin (that would be pretty stupid) and they all came back negative. Any helpful advice is welcome.

You watch too many movies…

For starters were-creatures, should they exist, are unnatural. This means that standard animals can sense this unnatural presence, meaning your dogs would be more likely to growl at you than anything else.

Your cousin is not a werewolf, you however, are an extremely gullible individual.

The idea of a werewolf who could not change is kind of like saying you are a vampire who is not undead… And doesn’t drink blood.

The idea of werewolves originate from ancient times where folk were more superstitious. They would see madmen or shamans in the pelts of animals high of whatever hallucinagen is available and they would act the part of the animal.

In the dead of night where street lights don’t exist, you see a human/wolf creature howling and acting generally rabid. To a medieval peasant that would be quite a site…

As for your growling etc, so what? I have a lot of hair, long fingernails (yet I am male), sharp canines and I crave raw meat. I also have a tendency to enjoy looking at a full moon, have a love of wolves and I prefer the woodlands/natural area’s. I do not however profess to be a werewolf, I simply admit to myself that I like these things because they are me and if you cannot love yourself, you can’t love anyone…

My advise to you? Stop living in the dream world. Enjoy your imagination all you want… Just don’t live in it, it’ll lead to nothing but trouble. I know, I’ve been there.

If you’re more than meets the eye, but can’t ’shift’ you sound like a failed attempt at a Transformer. The more important question is: Are you an auto-bot or a decepticon?

I think you just have werewolf blood in you. Not lycanthropy, but just a wolf blood line, since it runs in your family. Go to that site if you have any other questions. Btw, you’ll show the symptoms, but never actually physically change ever.

Well if wolf blood is in you then you have a wolf bloodline but there are four main types of shift for a wolf

M-Shift
P-Shift
PH-Shift
SC-Shift
You could’ve possibly went through the M or PH Shift but I know people who has a wolf bloodline and it has never skipped a generation you are a wolf and there no doubt about it but you may not have all the characteristics of a wolf or you could be a therian a human with the spirit of wolf I would love to go into deeper conversation with if you email me but I require the ten points+ best answer I know tons of others like you with the same problem
